#482 closed bug (fixed)

Sync destroys file content when uploading/modifying via LogicalDOC

Reported by: jkenyon Owned by: Helpdesk
Priority: critical Milestone:
Component: Sync Version:
Keywords: Cc:

Description

LogicalDOC Sync 1.1.1

Any time a file (e.g. Text1.docx) is changed in the remote folder

  • Either uploaded to LogicalDOC (e.g. via the web interface)
  • OR modified within LogicalDOC (e.g. checkin/checkout)
  • OR restored from Trash

when the remote file is sync'd to the local folder, LogicalDOC-Sync creates a file with the right name (e.g. Text1.docx) but the file is empty (no content).

Then the next time a sync is performed (e.g. 1 min later), the empty local copy overwrites the remote copy, resulting in a version 1.1 on the server that is empty.

As a result, both the local file and the remote file in LogicalDOC are empty.

Currently we have a replacement solution to solve this problem.
This solution allows to synchronize the system or a branch of the repository with a folder in the file system of a Windows system.
This solution involves the installation of an upgrade to the CMIS pluging of LogicalDOC 7.4.2 and the installation and configuration of CmisSynch software on a Windows client PC.

Does this mean LogicalDOC Sync will be discontinued?

Replying to jkenyon:

Does this mean LogicalDOC Sync will be discontinued?

We're still discussing, at the moment this is a solution that a customer is already using.
Unfortunately is limited to operating in a Windows environment
