In the web interface, it is possible to add a version comment when you update field information etc (the version comment pops up automatically). It is currently not possible to add a comment to an updated version via webservices. Should I add this as a feature request then?

You can add this as feature request, of course.
Note: See
TracTickets for help on using
tickets.
Well, the comment is just for check-ins, it is thought to be a read-only field that the user can leave when the chec-in operation take place.
This is a wanted behabiour, not a bug.
